What is a research study?

A clinical research study involves using human volunteers (also called participants) that is intended to add to medical knowledge. There 2 main types of clinical studies: clinical trials (also called interventional studies) and observational studies.
Can I get paid for participating?

Some research studies offer compensation for your time. Please visit a study's website to learn if that particular study provides paid participation.
If I see a research study or clinical trial I’m interested in, what do I do?

Who can participate in a research study?

The eligibility requirements are determined by a research study’s protocol. Some studies seek participants who have the illnesses or conditions being studied, others are looking for healthy people, and some are limited to a predetermined group of people.
